Why Was This Project So Impressive?
The project involves construction of a 3.1 million ft² mixed-use development, which includes a 2.3 million ft² world-class regional shopping center anchored by Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s department stores. It has a total of 5 levels, with 4 levels of retail and 1 level comprised of a 20-screen cinema and other family entertainment areas consisting of 400 retail stores, a food market, 145 cafes and restaurants, a premier health club and more than 7,000 parking spaces.
Structural Particulars
The project involved complicated structural foundations that included waterproofing of horizontal elements and vertical secant piles. The General Contractor chose to use treated plywood as a vertical substrate to fix the COLPHENE BSW V membrane due to site conditions.
