The Insulation of The Halifax Hospice
Why Was This Project So Impressive?
The construction team of the Halifax Hospice, the very first hospice in the city, put their trust in SOPREMA for the building’s insulation, which was crucial to this project as the occupants are at the terminal stages, thus highly sensitive to cold and humidity. The energy performance of the building is ensured now thanks to our SOPRA-CELLULOSE, an odour-free thermal and acoustic insulation with low VOC content, and SOPRA-SPF 202, a fully monolithic spray-applied polyurethane foam that can be installed in hard-to-reach areas! Moreover, the two products are GREENGUARD Gold certified.

"The cellulose we’re using is a dense-packed application, which is going to provide sound-dampening and thermal properties in a mechanical room. Cellulose is a very important product in this project because it has very low VOCs. It has no odour, and for a building, whether it’s for a school or a hospital, the importance of having a GREENGUARD Gold certification is optimal, as this ensures the safety of the people inside."
"We consider SOPREMA to be a fantastic partner for our business. We’ve dealt with SOPREMA on other projects with different products, and we’ve had a good experience."
"SOPREMA just doesn’t bring a product to market and say: ‘’This is where we stop.’’ It’s always a constant improvement. We get great support from the SOPREMA team when we’ve dealt with their product."
