SOPREMA Polyisocyanurate Plant Obtains Leed® Silver Certification

July 10, 2020

For the ecofriendly construction and development practices implemented at its polyisocyanurate insulating panel manufacturing plant in Drummondville, QC, SOPREMA has received LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver certification from the Canada Green Building Council. These practices include a heat recovery system, a 4,000-square-foot solar wall to complement the heating system, a white roof, charging stations for electric cars, a rainwater management system, improvements to the ventilation system, the use of local materials, and the replacement of asphalt with white roller-compacted concrete to mitigate heat islands. Thanks to all these measures to minimize environmental impacts, this plant—inaugurated in 2015—has become a standard for all our development projects.
