SOPREMA Acquires Benolec
SOPREMA announces the acquisition of Benolec, a company specialized in the production of cellulosic products, namely thermal and acoustic insulation, located in Sainte-Julie, Quebec. “We are proud to welcome Benolec to our company. SOPREMA’s and Benolec’s values are the same – we are two family companies striving to provide quality products and personalized service to our customers,” stated Richard Voyer, Executive Vice President and CEO of SOPREMA – North America. “Benolec shares common values with SOPREMA and the priority of both companies is to manufacture a premium product while providing customers with an unparalleled service. Joining SOPREMA will provide additional resources to Benolec, so we can continue our mission and achieve our full potential,” said Normand Carbonneau president of Benolec. Although Benolec is now part of the SOPREMA Group, the company will continue to operate as usual for its customers and in its markets. There will be no change to the current structure. In recent years, SOPREMA Canada has been improving its product line and extending its expertise to areas other than waterproofing, including the production of insulating materials with high energy efficiency and low environmental impact. Our goal is to have a full range of products to suit all types of applications to create sustainable buildings with reduced environmental footprint. With its new polyisocyanurate manufacturing plant, SOPREMA demonstrates this commitment since it is in the process of obtaining LEED Gold certification. The acquisition of Benolec is inscribed in this vision of environmentally-responsible diversification. Used for wall and attic insulation, cellulose fibres are a natural product made from recycled paper. Their environment-friendly aspect and their well-known and proven quality have naturally attracted SOPREMA to this technology. It should be noted that SOPREMA is familiar with blown insulation since it already possesses cellulose fibre manufacturing plants in Europe.
