SOPREMA Canada’s Woodstock Plant Wins Award at COP 30

SOPREMA Canada received international recognition at the COP 30 conference held in Belém, Brazil. Its plant in Woodstock, Ontario, won the Smart Building award as part of the Green Solutions Awards.

This prestigious award highlights exemplary projects involving sustainable construction, energy efficiency and the integration of smart solutions that promote environmental performance and people’s well-being.
By honouring the Woodstock plant, the jury recognizes not only the technical excellence of the project, but also SOPREMA Canada’s ability to build differently, leveraging sustainability and innovation as concrete drivers of climate transition.
A Plant Designed for Sustainability from the Start
Commissioned in 2020, the 107,000 ft2 plant in Woodstock is dedicated to the production of SBS bituminous membranes, materials essential for waterproofing roofs and building envelopes.
Certified LEED v4, one of the most stringent certifications in the world, this installation is currently among the most modern and efficient in the SOPREMA group internationally. Obtaining such a prestigious certification for an industrial building is an exceptional achievement in Canada, which highlights the innovative nature of the project. Designed in collaboration with Lemay and Pomerleau, the plant stands out for its sustainable industrial design, energy efficiency and the integration of solutions that promote adaptation to climate change.
The Woodstock plant represents a key strategic turning point in strengthening SOPREMA’s presence in Ontario. Strategically located near major highways, it embodies values of proximity, adaptability and local impact.
