Partnership between SOPREMA and Aéronergie to Improve the Energy Efficiency of Buildings

April 30, 2021

SOPREMA and Aéronergie, two well-established companies in Drummondville, are combining their expertise in order to improve the energy efficiency of buildings. The solar thermal collectors manufactured by Aéronergie will now be distributed by the SOPREMA sales force, mainly in Québec.

The association between SOPREMA and Aéronergie, both working in the construction industry, came about naturally as the two companies share a common vision regarding the importance of reducing the impact of buildings on the environment, in particular by focusing on their energy efficiency. The technology distributed is the LUBI Solar Collector.

“It goes without saying that partnering with a company as well known and established as SOPREMA will allow us to reach new markets and to extend on a larger scale our mission to help building owners reduce their energy consumption and their greenhouse gas emissions. It is a real springboard towards our development!” explains Carl Binette, President of Aéronergie.

Having installed its first 3,000 ft2 solar collector on its plant in Richmond, Québec, in 2012, SOPREMA knows better than anyone how significant this equipment is in reducing the use of fossil fuels for heating or cooling buildings. This is why solar collectors are now an integral part of the design of all its buildings. So far, 13 passive solar collectors totalling 26,080 ft2 were added to the exterior facades of nine SOPREMA buildings across the country.

“We quickly understood all the environmental and economic benefits of passive solar collectors. By distributing this product, we are helping a greater number of people benefit from them, and this contributes to our mission, which is to offer sustainable solutions for buildings. In addition, Aéronergie’s solar collectors are among the most efficient in the world according to experts in the field,” said Richard Voyer, Vice President and CEO, SOPREMA North America.
