ANTIROCK membranes
Waterproofing solutions for bridges and parking decks
SOPREMA has developed products specially for the waterproofing of civil engineering structures. Two solutions supporting traffic circulation are designed for this application.

ANTIROCK
ANTIROCK products are used to waterproof bridges and parking decks. The line includes a choice of primers, sealants and thermofusible or self-adhesive membranes.
ANTIROCK membranes are installed on parking decks and bridges to protect the structural concrete against corrosion caused by water and de-icing salt.
After installation, ANTIROCK membranes can be covered with asphalt as they resist temperatures as high as 140°C, the minimum temperature of asphalt. ANTIROCK membranes are also highly resistant to puncture. There is no risk of cars or paving equipment harming the waterproofing layer.
- ANTIROCK, thermofusible SBS modified bitumen membrane with granulated surface
- ANTIROCK STICK, self-adhesive SBS modified bitumen membrane with granulated surface
- ANTIROCK STARTER, starter thermofusible SBS modified bitumen membrane with granulated surface
- ANTIROCK 5000, self-adhesive membrane with a surface of three-ply woven polyethylene complex
Quickly done, well done with MACADEN
MACADEN is specialized equipment for the automated installation of ANTIROCK thermofusible SBS modified bitumen waterproofing membranes on bridges. MACADEN can be used in both winter and summer, at temperatures as low as -10°C.
MACADEN is fully automated for uniform, high-speed installation, conditioning the deck surface and simultaneously applying the membrane. A jet of warm air dries the concrete surface of the bridge, while a burner constantly and consistently heats the membrane to liquefy the bitumen. The liquid bitumen fills all surface imperfections so the membrane welds with the concrete. A steamroller then applies pressure on the membrane to create a smooth and uniform surface.
With MACADEN, work is quickly completed. The MACADEN 20 can install 400 metres (imperial) of 10 metre (imperial) wide membrane without stopping to restock. By using more than one machine, it is possible to complete waterproofing and bridge paving in one night, significantly reducing traffic congestion.
Primers
ANTIROCK primers prepare concrete and metal surfaces for adhesion of ANTIROCK thermofusible and self-adhesive waterproofing membranes.
- ANTIROCK PRIMER, solvent-based primer
- ANTIROCK EMULSION PRIMER, water-based primer
- ANTIROCK STICK PRIMER, solvent-based primer for self-adhesive membranes
Sealant
ANTIROCK sealant is used to seal various openings often found on civil engineering structures. It remains flexible at low temperature, resists warping at high temperature and adheres well to most unprimed surfaces. ANTIROCK sealant is applied with a trowel and can be used on damp surfaces.
