Soprema is an international company specializing in the manufacturing of modified bitumen membranes. Soprema’s product line includes roofing, waterproofing and air/vapour barriers.

The candidate for this position will inspect and instruct as necessary the installation of our products on building sites to ensure that the application is in accordance with our standards and requirements. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for organizing and conducting training courses specifically designed to educate and train field personnel in the proper installation techniques of Soprema products and systems. Work is based in Saskatoon, SK.

Under the supervision of the Sales Manager, as a Field Technician you will:

  • Regularly and systematically visit job sites;
  • Have practical field experience and general knowledge of common roofing practices;
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with applicators and sub contractors within your territory;
  • Have thorough product knowledge in order to communicate and demonstrate technical proficiency;
  • Be able to communicate concisely and effectively with architects, consultants, government officials, building owners, etc., on the characteristics and properties of Soprema products specific to the matter at hand.
  • Co-ordinate and co-operate with all in house departments to ensure customer satisfaction and product performance;
  • Be knowledgeable of competitive products and systems;
  • Recognize industry trends or concerns that may affect us;
  • Be available for various internal meetings and events.

Duration:Full time, permanent

Skills:
  • Knowledge of the construction industry is essential;
  • The ideal candidate possesses experience in the roofing, waterproofing and air barrier aspects of the building envelope;
  • Familiarity with construction specifications and working drawings;
  • Need to be self-motivated and well organized;
  • Computer literacy desirable;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Persistent, ambitious and have a strong drive for success.
